Happy New Year!
I know it's a few days late, but better late than never right?
I hope you all had a great holiday season and end of 2014, as well as an amazing beginning of 2015!
This year is full of endless possibilities, so try something new, whether it be large or small.
Try new things, join new clubs or teams, start a blog, challenge yourself to read more, learn how to bake, or even be more daring with your make-up and fashion looks. The sky is the limit!
I hope that you can all try one new thing this year which will inspire you to be the best person you possibly can be.
This year, I hope to improve the blog by posting more frequently and constantly making minor changes to keep things looking fresh; I hope to read even more than I have in the past (I have taken up the 2015 Goodreads Reading Challenge by aiming to read 25 books this year); and I hope to become a more confident person by challenging myself to try new things, learn new skills, and meet new people. By setting up these goals, I have something to work towards which will make 2015 an amazing and unforgettable year.
What do you challenge yourself to do this year? Make 2015 your year!
So, I thought, that since this is the first post that I am writing in 2015, it of course has to have something to do with fashion. That is why I have put together a few fashion trends that I believe will be prominent this year. (Click the images to be redirected to the website they are from).
1. Scuba Material
Inspired by surfer and scuba gear, this formfitting fabric has an edge which will amp up any style of dress, top, or swimming costume!
2. Midi Skirts
Classic pieces never go out of style, but this piece has been starting to appear in more stores lately, and many people have already jumped in on the trend causing a lot of buzz around these gorgeous skirts. Some have even been updated to give them a more modern, edgy feel.
3. Cut-Out Camis
Camis in colour block and water colour patterns with strappy backs and cut-outs, are gaining huge momentum this summer. They are the perfect laid-back piece which can either be dressed up or dressed down, and they look great against a tan!
Pastels are appearing everywhere from subtle hues in hair colours (e.g. blonde with a very slight peachy tinge to it), to all different types of fashion pieces. I feel like pastels are always coming in and out of style, but at the moment they are definitely in.
5. Nautical Stripes
The nautical look is 'in' so don't be left behind when this boat docks by picking up pieces with classic navy and white stripes. Crisp white pieces also play on this trend.
There are many other trends that I haven't included in this post, but you can check my blog Style Crush over at GirlZone.com very soon, to discover more!
